Row by Row Appliqué Step-by-Step: Dragonfly and Moose

Since all of our row by row patterns have appliques we decided to do some quick posts with step-by-step photos of placement for reference. Since our dragonfly and moose appliques are fairly simple, we have decided to show the placement of both of these appliques in this post.
For tips on tracing and cutting out your applique pieces, see our video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0CrWrnbz5k.
This video was done on a more complicated applique but the steps for tracing and cutting out the applique still apply.

Once your applique pieces are all cut out, you can work on placement of your pieces:

Rabbit
1. The first piece you will want to place is the ‘bottom’ wing. Centre this over the arrow and fuse into place.

2. Next place the ‘top’ part of the wings, making sure to overlap this piece over the centre area of the ‘bottom’ wing and fuse it in place.

3.Lastly you will want to centre the body of the dragonfly over top of both wing pieces and fuse it in place.

In order to secure your applique pieces to your block, it's not a bad idea to stitch around your applique to secure it in place

Moose:
The first piece you will want to place is the moose body. This piece is placed above the arrow to give the illusion that the moose in swimming behind the arrow. Once you have decided where you want to place the moose body fuse it in place, leaving the head of the moose unfused until you place your antlers.

2. Next place your antlers in behind the head of the moose and fuse the antlers and the rest of the moose body into place.

3. Now we will place the moose legs. In the centre area of the moose, there is one leg that overlaps another. Place and fuse this centre ‘back’ leg first and then you can place and fuse the other three legs.
