Q. Do you carry licensed fabrics?
A. The simple answer to this question is “Yes, we do!” HOWEVER not every licensed fabric is available in Canada and not every licensing company produces fabric for purchase to the public.
Q. Do you have NHL fabrics?
A. Unfortunately, no. While there is a high demand for these fabrics (Canadians LOVE Hockey!), these fabrics are not available. Even if you see a ready-made product that uses NHL printed fabric, this fabric is created exclusively for the ready-made market and is not available for sale directly to consumers.
Q. Do you carry Minecraft fabric?
A. We have heard this question for years, and unfortunately the answer is also ‘no’. It is possible to find online projects and fabrics inspired by the pixelated look of Minecraft, but these are not generally sanctioned by the licensee.
Q. What are your most popular licensed fabrics?
A. Recently, the fabric about which we take the most inquiries and that is also flying out the door is “Paw Patrol” fabric. Young children seem to love the characters and parents seem happy to support the positive messages promoted by the show. “Shopkins” is also very popular along with a wide range of Disney (including Star Wars), Marvel and D.C. prints.
Q. Can I make things from licensed prints and sell them?
A. That depends. Look at the selvedge. Many licensed prints have a message on the selvedge that indicates that they are for private home use only such as “Sold for non-commercial home use only. Other purposes prohibited.” The companies that own the licenses take these warnings very seriously, so it is best to heed the prohibition, but please feel free to use these fabrics to make things for yourself or for a gift for someone else.
The nice thing about the wide variety of licensed fabrics is that it gives you an opportunity to create a unique item for a fan of the specific brand/character. What fabrics are you looking for to keep your fans happy?
